July 10th: One-Planet Ours! Sustainability for the 22nd Century, A United States Botanic Garden Exhibit. Join Local First DC member FRESHFARM Markets' Seasonal Food & Cocktails Event at the US Botanic Garden on Thursday, July 10 from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Tickets $75. Buy tickets now!
July 12th: The Mount Pleasant Films in the Park Series. Come and join us in Lamont Street park from 7 to 10pm for an exciting evening of music, games, movies, and more! Celebrate Mt. Pleasant's Independent Businesses from 7 to 9pm featuring bingo, prize giveaways, music and more. The screening for Blanca Nieve (Snow White) with English Subtitles starts at 9pm. Bring the whole family down for a free night of fun in the park!
July 12th: Mount Pleasant Farmers Market. Make sure to stop by the Local First DC booth at the Mount Pleasant farmers market. We will be on site from 9 to 1pm offering trivia on local businesses, a spin on our fabulous prize wheel, as well as drawings for gift certificates from some great local businesses! The market is located between 17th and Mount Pleasant and Park and Lamont Street.
July 18th: Brazilian Art Exhibit. Come down to Hoopla Eco Boutique to view some amazing Brazilian Art along with Tapas, cocktails, and music!

July 19th: Adams Morgan Farmers Market. Visit the Local First DC team at the Adams Morgan farmers market from 8 to 1pm and enter your name in a drawing for gift certificates from awesome local businesses! 8 to 1pm. The Market is at the corner of 18 St. and Columbia Rd.
July 20th: Sky Near and Co Celebrates 20 years of making you "feel at home." Come in for peanut butter and jelly, ice cold milk, and the chance to earn your Skynear Design Dollars. July 26th: Cooking Demonstration at 14th and U Farmers Market. Come down to the 14th and U farmers market to see a local chef in action! Christina Giallourakis from Inspire Nutrition will be showcasing her talents and preparing a meal from fresh, locally grown ingredients. Local First DC will also be on site from 9 to 1pm, offering local business trivia, a spin on our prize wheel, and drawings for gift certificates from local businesses.
July 29th: A Busboys and Poetry Event – Tuesday Night Open Mic! Open mic line begins to form around 7:30pm in the bookstore. Ticket sales begin – and list opens – at 8pm. $4.00 Admission. 9 to 11pm, Busboys and Poets (Langston Room) 2021 14th Street NW
August 2nd: 14th and U Farmers Market
The last hurrah for independents' month! Come down to the 14th and U farmers market for local business trivia, a spin on the prize wheel, and drawings for gift certificates from local businesses. The 9th annual Dog Days of Summer will also be happening this weekend on U street, so there is no excuse not to come down and BUY LOCAL!
